Peter Becker, who runs Golden Age Guitar’s repair business and formerly of Mandolin Bros on Staten Island, has hired an able
assistant to handle the store’s growing repair demand. Ian Peters, a graduate of the Bryan Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair in Michigan and worked under master builder Sam Guidry, started recently while Pete took a much needed vacation.
Ian also works at Lark Street Music in Teaneck and also worked for Kelly Custom Instruments in Little Falls, a custom builder and
repair business. An accomplished player, Ian plays the banjo, mandolin and guitar. He enjoys bluegrass, Indian music and American
primitive guitar playing. He learned that style while hitch hiking around the country for 4 years.
His favorite guitar is the one he built himself—a 14-fret OM style guitar with a spruce top and mahogany back and side. Stop by the
store and let him work his magic on your guitar.
