So, finally I've learned how to use Macromedia Contribute and am adding something to the "latest news" section. I really should have started calling the "oldest news" section. But that will all change now that I can keep up with it. If I don't keep up, e-mail and bust me on it.
(Well I have not been keeping up and nobody gave me hell for it. Please do.)
I'm proud to announce that we have several new builders onboard with Golden Age. First up is Bill Comins. I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to present Bill's fine archtops in our store. As you may know, Bill is one of the best known and most highly regarded archtop builders. The Comins Amp is already here (see our inventory) and some guitars should arrive in the first part of 2006. (BTW, I received my first Comins and it just stopped me in my tracks. Bill is the first guy, that I know of, to figure out how to put the vintage vibe in a new guitar. Needless to say, it sold within 3 days)!
Another new face at Golden Age is Harvey Leach. We will be one of the four dealer's of Harvey's "Voyage Air" line of guitars which I think will really revolutionize the whole notion of "travel" guitars. You will be totally amazed when you see them. I hope to have them here by April. We will also have some of Harve's custom creations from time to time (like the Cremona "Tree") currently in inventory (well, not anymore). Great news from Healdsburg: Harvey has a new line of Voyage Air guitars due soon. They have a re-designed neck hinge and will be made in Japan. The price will be an unbelievable $1500!
I first met Texas luthier Jimmy Caldwell at the 2005 Healdsburg Festival where his guitars stood out in a veritable forest of handmade guitars. He has created some of the best sounding guitars I've heard in recent years, such as the Ziricote Grand Concert we currently have on hand. BTW the second person to lay hands on the Caldwell Ziricote GC bought it. The first guy was really sad that he didn't jump on it.
For those who live in the Central New Jersey are I have some gig notices that I really suggest you get up out of the rocker and check out. A great time is guaranteed for all (especially guitar players). See the homepage for listings.
